ReNew York Tee

review this product average 5 from 1 reviews

In 2005, Ropeadope launched Renew Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. With partners Preservation Hall and Okayplayer the project raised over $ 80,000.00 for musicians in New Orleans. The project was legendary, with the shirts recreated for the opening episode of the HBO series Treme years later. Most importantly, the shirts captured the pride and determination of the people of New Orleans.

More than 7 years later the (un)thinkable has happened. New York has been hit by a storm that has put millions of people in danger, and has hurt the lives and livelihood of thousands of artists and musicians. And so, Renew York has now begun to help those affected. A simple concept - a tee shirt that raises much needed money for artists and musicians in need. Shirts are sold online and at select outlets, with 40 % of the gross sale going directly to organizations providing relief for those affected by the storm.

40 % of the proceeds from the sales of Renew York tees go to the following organizations:

The Jazz Foundation of America -

The NYC Food Truck Association -

These shirts sold by the thousands in the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina...I STILL wear mine, as New Orleans is still rebuilding. It is a great idea that everyone should support.
